Your Mountain Story
Within these walls, time expands.
Some fill it with alpine trails and high-altitude thrills. Others let it drift with a sip of wine and a tale well told. Many simply follow the silence of the woods.
Whether you travel to taste, explore, or be moved by nature, Castel Badia offers space for every kind of mountain story.
Flavour & Culture
Hidden among the Dolomites are unexpected traces of history: from World War II bunkers now turned into museums, to one-of-a-kind spaces like the Stockner’s Genuss Bunker, a subterranean chamber devoted to cheese ageing.
Just nearby, the Messner Mountain Museum and the Plan de Corones Photography Museum offer unique perspectives on mountain life and culture. In Brunico, cobbled streets, artisan shops, cafés and winter markets bring a more urban, yet still intimate rhythm to the landscape.
Inside the castle, flavour becomes an experience to share: local cooking classes, curated tastings and mixology workshops take shape around the wishes of those who join.
Sport & Outdoors
In winter, the Plan de Corones ski area — just five minutes away — offers over 120 kilometres of slopes and state-of-the-art lifts. Nearby, other renowned resorts like 3 Zinnen Dolomites, Skiworld Ahrntal, Alta Badia and the iconic Cortina d’Ampezzo are all part of the vast Dolomiti Superski network, with one pass granting access to more than 1,200 km of slopes.
But there’s more than just skiing: the region also offers cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, biathlon skiing, ice skating and scenic winter hikes.
In summer, the slopes give way to cycle routes, mountain bike trails and hiking paths that crisscross the entire valley.
For those seeking new thrills, paragliding offers a whole new perspective on the Dolomites.
Castle guests enjoy complimentary access to the Pustertal Golf Club, a course surrounded by nature at the foot of Plan de Corones, with unlimited play on 9- or 18-hole rounds.*
*Available by reservation only during the opening period of the Golf Club. The green fee is included in the stay; only a booking fee of €12 per person applies.
