Summer trails
Days unfold between swims in crystal-clear mountain lakes, cool even at the height of summer, long walks and mountain bike routes that wind around the hill where the castle stands. There are meadows and riverbanks to stop at, a picnic to improvise, a book to read in the shade.
The streets of Brunico and the surrounding villages open up to the season, filling with outdoor tables, markets and food festivals where traditional dishes share space with live music. On the summit of Kronplatz and throughout the valley, museums, exhibitions and farms producing artisan specialities weave art and history into the landscape around them.
Summer at the Castle
As the day winds down, the castle spa draws you in through its stone corridors: alpine herb treatments, the contrast of ice and warmth, and quiet rooms with views over the mountains.
Come evening, the peaks turn amber and a low, golden light settles over everything. At dinner, seasonal flavours bring the day full circle: local food shared in rooms that hold centuries of history, between ancient plaster walls and the soft glow of candlelight.
The stories held within the castle walls never stop; they simply change shape with each season. In the summer months, the courtyard and gardens come back to life. Music, good food, a glass of wine and the simple pleasure of staying outdoors until evening.
In summer, the Puster Valley sheds the muffled quiet of snow for something livelier, though never loud. It reveals itself only to those who know where to look.
